We are, together with the responsible auditor. AI can carry out and prepare work, but the final assessment and signature always rest with an authorised auditor. The technology therefore changes the way the work is carried out, not who is responsible. ## How does Repodo differ from established audit firms that already use AI and automated data analysis? The key issue is not simply whether you use AI. With us, technology, workflows and the customer experience have been built around AI from the start. And we do not sell software to the audit industry - we deliver the audit ourselves and have the direct customer relationship. ## Which countries would you like to open in? Denmark is our first market. After that, the ambition is to expand in Europe. We have identified several attractive markets and are preparing to launch, but we will only announce the specific countries as we open. ## When can customers use Repodo? If we launch with a waiting list: From launch, companies can sign up with Repodo. We will then onboard customers over the next couple of weeks. ## Which specific parts of the audit are carried out by AI and which parts by auditors? AI can, among other things, handle data collection, reconciliations, documentation and transaction analysis. The auditor focuses on risks, assessments, complex matters and dialogue with the customer. The final assessment and signature rest with the auditor. ## Does Repodo mean that in the long term there will be no need for auditors at all? No. We want to remove a large part of the routine work, not the need for an auditor. Auditors should spend more time on the areas where experience and judgement make a difference - and less on repetitive work. ## What will the audit industry look like in 5 years? Much more of the manual work will be automated for both customers and auditors. The auditor will increasingly focus on risks, complex assessments and the conversations where professional experience matters, while the customer can spend less time on collecting data, etc. The question will not be whether the industry uses AI, but how fundamentally it has changed the way it works. ## How do you ensure that the AI system complies with the Auditors Act and all requirements? The regulatory responsibility rests with us as the audit firm and the responsible auditor. The technology is therefore used within controlled audit processes with professional review and human approval. We comply with all requirements and legislation. ## How much cheaper, specifically, will Repodo be than a traditional audit firm? The biggest saving by far is made by our customers in the form of a significantly reduced need in their finance functions. Many companies spend very substantial resources collecting data and documents to share with their auditor. We are now automating that. In addition, we expect to be able to deliver audits at a significantly lower price point because, of course, we are automating most of the manual work. In our business model, we are working for the core segment with prices that can be significantly below traditional alternatives, but that is not the only benefit our customers will experience. ## How do you ensure that the auditor is sufficiently familiar with each set of accounts when everything has been processed by AI? AI should give the auditor more time for the material matters in each set of accounts - not less. When repetitive work is reduced, the auditor can focus on risks, deviations and complex matters where professional judgement is crucial. ## Is there a limit to how many sets of accounts an auditor can handle at the same time at Repodo? The technology should make it possible to increase productivity significantly, but there is no capacity target that takes precedence over quality. The auditor must always have a sufficient basis to be able to take professional responsibility for each individual audit. ## You have not yet registered an audit firm, which is necessary for your model. What is the reason for that? We are launching Repodo now and opening up for companies to sign up. The registration of the audit firm will be in place within a few days, and that is why we have opened a waiting list so people can be onboarded. ## You write that onboarding takes only ten minutes. That seems very fast? The ten minutes are about getting started with Repodo - not about carrying out the audit itself. The ambition is to make onboarding very simple by connecting the company's systems digitally. The audit itself will of course take the time necessary to carry it out in a professionally sound manner. ## What do you do about hallucinations and errors from AI? We never assume that an AI output is automatically correct. There is therefore professional control around the technology, and the final responsibility still rests with the auditor. ## Are you taking on the Big Four directly? Yes, but also the large audit firms in the tier below. We are not building a tool for established audit firms to buy; we are building an audit firm and competing for customers. Our thesis is that the audit model itself can be built better when the technology is integrated from the start. ## What happens when PwC, Deloitte, EY or KPMG copy you? The industry is already investing in AI today, but we do not have to take old legacy systems into account. So our advantage is that we do not have to transform an existing organisation. We have built technology, processes and the customer experience around AI from the start. But of course we expect competition. ## Is this an attack on the traditional auditor? No, not at all. We are challenging the way audit work is organised, not the auditor's professional expertise or value to society. In fact, we believe AI can make the auditor's job more interesting by removing a large part of the routine work. ## What does Repodo mean for jobs in the audit industry? AI will change the division of labour, and fewer human working hours will be spent on some repetitive processes. In return, professional assessment, understanding of risk and customer dialogue will become even more important. And we ourselves need to hire skilled auditors. ## Is Repodo a software company or an audit firm? We have several companies, but as a customer you are a customer of an audit firm. The other companies provide the technology on which the audit firm is built. We do not sell an AI tool to other auditors; we deliver the audit service ourselves and have the direct customer relationship. ## Why don't you just sell software to the audit firms? Because we believe the biggest opportunity lies in rethinking the entire audit model.
